Aerospace Testing Russia 2009, the 5th International Exhibition of Testing Equipment, Systems and Technologies for the Aerospace Industry

On Tuesday 6 October, the Aerospace Testing Russia 2009 exhibition began in the Olympisky Sports Complex. For six years, the event has remained the only specialised exhibition of testing equipment for the aerospace industry in Russia.

Specialists arrived at the exhibition long before the official opening ceremony.  Each year, lots of industry professionals come to the exhibition to see new products and the latest developments in aerospace systems and technologies.  And Aerospace Testing Russia 2009 did not let them down!

Universalpribor’s stand was very popular.  In the morning it became known that specialists would give a presentation of a new laboratory.  But the details were not made available in advance – a “test” of the space simulator (which is how the new development is known) was scheduled for 13:00.

Elena Moore Trading, a permanent exhibitor, presented onboard modular systems for collecting, transforming, accumulating and transferring data during ground and flight tests.  Of particular relevance at the current time is equipment for testing the effects of environmental factors.  Also presented were programmable industrial sources of DC power and much more.

At the stand of Ostek, visitors were able to see a visual control system and measuring microscopes, and even test them out.

National Instruments demonstrated a new system for regulating and checking radio communications, and vibro-acoustic measurement systems based on the 16 -channel PXI-express modules.
Many new products were demonstrated by ASM Tests and Measurements, including modal analysis systems from the leading manufacturer Bruel&Kjar, LAN-XI multi-channel data collection systems (2-1000 channels), and new Plus noise monitoring terminals.
The whole range of climatic test chambers (thermal, vacuum, solar fog, thermal shock) was presented at the stand of the company BLM Sinergie.

The Russian manufacturer Kropus presented several new products, including an automated monitoring system for aircraft engine shafts, a new industrial ultrasonic flaw detector, a new ultrasonic flaw detector for expert control, new scanners for the control of gas pipelines, a new generation of ultrasonic hardometers and much more.

Another Russian manufacturer, Informtest, introduced the latest software for mapping and analysis of experimental results, as well as a new type of LXI carrier for using the Mezabox-2 in difficult conditions. Sovtest ATE continues to build its production through the development of new solutions, and unveiled its latest development – an SDB series dry storage case.

Many other interesting and innovative products await visitors at Aerospace Testing Russia 2009.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition began with a welcome from the General Director of ITE LLC Moscow, Alexander Shtalenkov.  Welcoming the visitors, he introduced the guests of honour – Vladimir Klyuev, President of the Russian Society for Nondestructive Testing; Alexander Ignatov, Advisor to the Director of the Aviation Industry Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation; Alexander Talov, General Director of KNPP Helicopters-MI; and Andrey Podenka, President of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs.

Vladimir Klyuev noted that, despite the difficult financial year, new companies had come to the exhibition.  But the main part of his speech was about security: “It is well known that accidents occur due to lack of effective testing and diagnostic methods and instruments.  To address the global problem of security, testing, monitoring and diagnostic equipment should become an integral part of any technological process in the aerospace industry.”

According to Mr. Kluyev, the industry needs more exhibitions and conferences, where professionals can exchange experiences.  He also said that new technology should not only be displayed at exhibitions but embraced by businesses.

Alexander Ignatov pointed out that the service life of an aircraft is determined by its safe operation.  Work is being conducted in this area in Russia and abroad.

The seminars began immediately after the opening of the exhibition.  As in previous years, the exhibition’s scientific programme is interesting and relevant.

The exhibition will continue until 8 October.  On behalf of the organisers, we wish all the exhibitors and visitors of Aerospace Testing Russia 2009 every success in their business.
